Book Marketing

I've worked in publishing for almost 30 years now, and have seen some truly bad book marketing -- from nothing at all, or virtually nothing (poor book, trying to sell itself), to some uninspired blasting of press releases out to a standard list, it's really no surprise that no one buys the book, and the needle doesn't move much for the author when it comes time to sell another book in a year or two.

I started authoring comprehensive marketing plans for the authors I work with many years ago, insisting all the while that I wasn't a publicist, but doing all the work of one (and usually more than that!). Finally, one of my biggest and most loyal clients prevailed, and asked me to offer the packages below to a small group of authors.

One of the biggest problems in book marketing is that fancy publicists often want to make everything plug and play, with easy, manageable steps that make their lives easier, but may or may not do much for you. One-stop shopping seldom works for extremely unique products. Instead, they're often recipes for disappointment, not to mention a smaller and much sadder wallet.

Instead, your book needs to be marketed with a specific, and very individual plan, which takes into account your needs and wants, as well as your long-term goals for the book itself, and beyond.

I'm offering these packages to a VERY SMALL group of people. Since my attention is much more personalized than most book marketers, I'm not trying to do a volume business here. Payment must be received in advance and, as soon as we receive payment, my assistant will contact you about getting on my schedule.

Happy to see you and your project reach the kind of heights you want to see, if you're willing to work hard with me to make it happen. If you're looking for something longer-lasting and personalized, please contact me through the contact page. I also work on a retainer basis.
